Purpose & eligibility

The SAT assesses Reading and Writing and Math for undergraduate applications. Before booking, check each university’s testing policy, scholarship requirements and score deadline. There is no single score that guarantees admission.

Choose a test date that leaves time for results, score delivery and a possible second attempt. A university’s academic entry requirements are separate from SAT registration.

How to prepare

Suggested study approach from Amicus. Adapt the pace to your starting level and application deadline.

  1. Take a full digital practice test in Bluebook to establish your starting point.
  2. Keep an error log: separate gaps in knowledge from misreading and time pressure. Revisit the underlying skill before repeating questions.
  3. Use College Board’s Student Question Bank and official Khan Academy practice for focused work.
  4. Practise full timed modules on your intended device, then review every incorrect answer.

Common questions

What score should I aim for?

Use the requirements and recent admitted-student score ranges of your shortlisted universities. Scholarship thresholds may differ from admission expectations.

Can I take the SAT from home?

SAT Weekend is administered at a test centre on your approved device. Digital delivery does not mean a remote home test.

What if I do not have a suitable device?

Read College Board’s device lending rules and request a loan during registration at least 30 days before test day.

Will an old score still be accepted?

Ask the receiving institution how recent it needs your score to be. Do not assume all universities use the same acceptance window.
